Dow Wolff Cellulosics operates one of the world’s largest plants for the production of methyl cellulose (MC) in Bitterfeld, Germany. The first construction stage came on stream in 1994. On 29 March 2004 the second construction stage was officially put into operation.
The state-of-the-art facility has an annual production capacity of 17,000 tonnes of methyl cellulose for the highly effective building material additive Walocel M. As part of an interlinked group of plants at the Bitterfeld and Bomlitz sites, it enables Dow Wolff Cellulosics to meet the demands of its global customers speedily, flexibly and with prime quality. The dynamic interaction among the plants gives an additional boost to new product development and improvements.
