Responsible Care

Dow Wolff Cellulosics is committed to responsible care in respect of its customers, employees and the environment. We regard this commitment as a holistic corporate responsibility and therefore comply with the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 standards. This comprises the following items:

Plant safety & hazard prevention:
When planning, installing and operating plant and equipment, we comply with the laws and regulations concerning the prevention of hazardous incidents.

Hazard avoidance schedules are drawn up systematically. In our plants and laboratories we have taken comprehensive preventive measures to protect against fire and explosion hazards.

Occupational safety:
Wolff Cellulosics takes comprehensive preventive measures relating to occupational safety and to health protection for our employees.

Environmental protection:
We direct specific activities towards continually reducing emission levels. Air pollution in the vicinity of the factory is now very low. The biological condition of the waters involved is rated in class 2 of the ecological objectives pursued by the Federal State of Lower Saxony and is continually being improved.

Safety during transport:
Compliance with legislation on hazardous goods is systematically implemented and monitored. Our suppliers and the shipping/haulage companies are urged in particular to transport hazardous goods safely. We assess their performance in this respect as part of our supplier/contractor audits.

Product safety & product quality:
The safety of our products already plays a major part in their development phase. Wherever possible, we only use raw materials with zero hazard potential for human beings and the environment. Any risks that cannot be eliminated with regard to raw materials, semi-finished and finished goods are clearly identified accordingly, and we specify how such risks can be controlled.

The requirements of the relevant national and international laws and regulations on chemicals and hazardous substances are observed. The quality of our products and services is carefully planned, produced in accordance with specifications, monitored and tested.

Quality management & environmental management:
To ensure compliance with specifications and requirements, we have systematically set up an integrated management system.

The system includes clearly defined responsibilities and procedures, precise specifications for materials and processes, and uniform documentation of specifications and results. Corrective and preventive action is systematically recorded, performed and its effectiveness continuously assessed.

Commercial efficiency :
Only an economically healthy company can in the long term meet the requirements of its customers and employees, of the public and the environment. When planning and carrying out safety and quality-related measures, Dow Wolff Cellulosics makes sure that these are commercially viable. Quality must always contribute towards increasing efficiency.

Dialogue :
We are grateful for any suggestions for improving the safety and quality of materials, processes and procedures. Please let us know your opinions, suggestions and comments – they are important to us. Do you have any questions or requests? Would you like some more detailed information? If you contact us, we would like to assist you further:
